The artistic research project of Krasimira Butseva, Martin Atanasov, and Marina Liakova sets the objective of taking a new look at groups and people from the Bulgarian migrant community in Germany, who remain unnoticed by the general public. It is known that this community exists, that it is multitudinous, but a significant part remains invisible in its everyday life. In reality, it is difficult to paint a picture behind which more than 400,000 Bulgarians stand.

The project was inspired by the first academic work on the topic of Bulgarian migration to Germany from 2020 by sociologist Marina Liakova, associate professor at the University of Karlsruhe. In a different approach, the artist Krasimira Butseva and the photographer Martin Atanasov took on the task of meeting Bulgarian migrants and hearing their stories.
