On 10 December 1948 the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN, celebrating its 76th anniversary this year. This date is also a part of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (between 25 November and 10 December). Join us on 10 December at 18.00 at the Theatre hall of Sofia University to mark and celebrate the human rights.

The event will include screening of a film, focusing on human rights, and a panel discussion with experts and refugees to reflect on the refugee journeys and stories.
The film is called Nice Ladies and tells the beautiful and painful story of the team of ageing Ukrainian cheerleaders. They all hold on to their friendship as each navigates the trauma of war in her own way.
The event is jointly organized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in Bulgaria, UNHCR Bulgaria and the Cultural Center of Sofia University. It is supported by Movies that matter, an initiative dedicated to broadening views for human rights through the art of film. The event is also a part of The European Solidarity Festival. Dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the festival includes a series of cultural, artistic, public and academic events organized by Bulgarian and international partners.
